In conjunction with DPO’s 5th International Conducting Competition and Workshop, conductors from around the globe will take the stage to lead the DPO.

The concert’s centerpiece will be the Colorado premiere of Nancy Ives‘ brand new violin concerto, Immortal Beloved, featuring soloist Denise Dillenbeck. To this day, no one knows for sure the name of Beethoven’s eternal muse and true love, the recipient of his famous “Immortal Beloved” letter. This concerto offers a portrait of the phenomenal women who surface as possibilities, told through Ives’ “many-splendored… melodic and compelling” style (Oregon ArtsWatch), and is an egalitarian tool carrying their voices into the present with timeless relevance.

Under the guidance of our Music Director Laureate, Maestro Lawrence Golan, these talented individuals will vie for the chance to return and lead the orchestra next season!
