With scope and drama, this 13-minute tone poem reflects the splendor of the Pacific Northwest's largest river. Designed for flexible collaboration with Native performers, the work draws on both ancient and recent events that are emblematic of the great Columbia and the tribal nations whose ancestors first fished, gathered, and celebrated along its banks beginning more than 11,000 years ago.
Two performances, at 9:30am and 11:30am, as part of the Oregon Symphony’s Young People's Concert series.
